The “Shinshu Children's Cafeteria (refer to SCC as follows) SDGs Project”, an organisation made up of volunteers

The “Shinshu Children's Cafeteria (refer to SCC as follows) SDGs Project”, an organisation made up of volunteers, used subsidies to set up a container to operate a 'refrigerated/freezer container' to store the food/meal they distribute to the children with free or extremely inexpensive price.

Since fresh ingredients or food are difficult to preserve its freshness, most of the food they receive are preservative food such as canned food and cup noodles, however by installed containers, SCC started to accept the fresh food, for instance vegetable, fish, meat.

It will also help to reduce "food loss", which is the disposal of food that could still be eaten, as SCC receives the food from the local supermarkets or food company.

In early August, the NPO Hotline Shinshu (Matsumoto City) distributed frozen lunchbox vegetables stored in containers to students and children.

"We want to make sure that the children have fresh vegetables and fresh food in the stage they are growing" mentioned by representative of this project.
